Naming ceremonies are designed to formally introduce your new child into the world, surrounded in celebration by close family and friends.

Many people are choosing civil celebrants to officiate this ceremony as it gives them the freedom to design the ceremony they want to celebrate the birth and naming of their child.

Parents are able to include older siblings in the ceremony, which celebrates the child into the family as a unit, as well as into the circle of close family and friends.

Children are often assigned “Godparents” or “Guardians” by their parents, to help guide them into adulthood.
